Escape Cottages Scotland is a family-run business, founded in 2024 by husband-and-wife team Julie and Frank Wilson. Based in the heart of the Scottish Highlands in Newtonmore, we curate a handpicked collection of self-catering cottages across Scotland, from the rugged Cairngorms and serene Perthshire to the coasts, islands, and cities. Helping guests discover beautiful holiday homes across Scotland.

We take pride in offering charming, comfortable holiday homes where guests can relax, explore, and create unforgettable memories — all with a personal touch that comes from being a family business rooted in the Highlands.

A passion for tourism, a family endeavor:

Julie and Frank have over ten years of experience in the tourism industry. In 2016, they launched their first venture, a holiday home management company, providing housekeeping and management services. They further expanded their business in 2019 by opening their own laundry facility.

The global pandemic prompted them, like many others, to re-evaluate their priorities. This introspection led to the exciting birth of Escape Cottages Scotland, fueled by their desire to create a unique platform for guests seeking unforgettable getaways.

Experience and Expertise:

Julie brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. A former NHS nurse and patient flow coordinator, she is also a certified Highland Tourism Ambassador, and holds a degree in nursing from Glasgow Caledonian University. Frank obtained a Bsc degree in music and audio technology from Paisley University, then transitioned his career path into retail management, before joining Julie in the tourism industry.

Escape Cottages Scotland is a proud member of the Association of Scotland's Self-Catering Accommodation (ASSC). We collaborate closely with various tourism agencies, including Airbnb, Booking.com, and Vrbo, to ensure maximum exposure for our clients' properties.

A family united by a love for the Highlands:

Julie and Frank met in 1999 and tied the knot in 2007. Their journey took them from Scotland's central belt to the majestic Highlands in 2015. They are proud parents of two children and doting grandparents to two adorable grandchildren. And let's not forget Murphy, their spoiled Shih Tzu who undoubtedly reigns supreme in their household!
